Reducing The Time and Cost of Grant Management
The application, approval and payment of state and federal grant funds has been identified as one of the most cumbersome processes in government – especially for agencies that manage multiple grant programs. This fact is not surprising given the magnitude of the available programs and amount of money that is distributed. The federal government alone has more than 600 grant programs, distributing more than $300 Billion to state and local governments – who typically process these funds for distribution to a multitude of recipients including local schools, child care facilities, public safety entities and community organizations.
Given the scale and importance of federal and state grant programs, automation of application and management processes is rapidly being adopted as a way to increase the speed and effectiveness of traditionally manual and error-prone operations. In doing so, state programs are able to reduce the effort, time and money required to prepare and process grant programs – while making it easier for applicants to find, apply and receive grant funds.

As a leading player in the grant management automation, MTW deployed the first automated, on-line grant management solution since the late 1990s. Since that time, we have worked with additional agencies to refine automated grant processes, transferred existing grant components to speed deployment for new customers, and worked with federal eGrant workgroups to share results and best practices.

The depth of MTW ’s experience in Grant Management provides customers with a multitude of options – allowing them to pick the approach that best suits their needs, culture, budget and environment. These options range from applying the MTW Grant Management Process Framework to jumpstart and guide new automation initiatives, to leveraging existing Grant Management business components, customizing a complete and proven Grant Management Solution, or building a solution based on past experiences to target the specific needs of an agency.
